Varnado’s Wildcats were defeated by Vandebilt Catholic, but defeated Springfield and Pearl River in games held Dec. 17, Dec. 20 and Dec. 22.

The game on Dec. 17 was a 78-59 loss to Vandebilt Catholic on the road.

Quanta Peters led the Wildcats with 19 points.

Miguel Fland tallied 16 points, five rebounds, six assists and three steals.

Dameon Roberts Jr. posted 15 points and seven boards.

The Dec. 20 game was a 70-67 win over Springfield at home.

Fland recorded 23 points to lead Varnado. He also tallied seven rebounds and eight assists.

C.J. Jackson posted 14 points, six boards, three steals and two blocks.

Roberts had 14 points, six boards and a block.

Quavadis Bickham recorded 10 points, six rebounds and three blocks.

The contest on Dec. 22 was a 48-42 win over Pearl River.

Peters was the team’s leading scorer with 14 points. Peters grabbed seven rebounds, made five steals and dished out three assists.

Roberts posted 13 points, seven boards and two steals.

Fland tallied 12 points, four rebounds and a blocked shot.

Bickham recorded six points, seven rebounds and a steal.

Varnado’s next game will take place on Jan. 4 against Rosenwald Collegiate Academy at home.
