A Varnado coach and player along with a Bogalusa player are competing in the 2021 Gridiron Football All-Star Game.

Malik Patterson and Wildcats assistant coach Chris Davenport and Bogalusa’s Tajdryn Forbes are in the contest.

Patterson is a first-team tight end/flex player this season.

Forbes is a first-team all-district wide receiver this season.

The three are on the East Roster, which is being coached by former LSU wide receiver Michael Clayton. Clayton spent eight seasons in the NFL. Six were with Tampa Bay with the last two as a New York Giant and he was part of the Giants 2012 Super Bowl team.

They will be facing the West Team, which is coached by former LSU and New Orleans Saints receiver Devery Henderson. Henderson spent all nine of his NFL seasons with the Saints and was part of the Saints Super Bowl team in the 2010 season.

The all-star game will take place Thursday at Strawberry Stadium on the campus of Southeastern Louisiana University at 5 p.m.
