Arkansas State’s Omier repeats as Sun Belt Men’s Basketball Player of the Week

After a career-high 31-point outburst, Arkansas State’s Norchad Omier made it back-to-back Sun Belt Men’s Basketball Player of the Week nods.

Red Wolves freshman forward Norchad Omier netted a career-high 31 points on 15-of-19 shooting, as Arkansas State closed out non-conference play with an 88-66 victory over Lyon College. Omier’s 30-point effort was the second by a Sun Belt player this season, while his 15 made field goals are the most by a conference student-athlete this year. The Bluefields, Nicaragua, native added 10 boards for his seventh double-double of the season and his fifth over the past six games. Omier also had five blocks, an assist and a steal in the contest.
