Wade Louis Polk Sr., 83, a resident of the Isabel Community, died Saturday night, Dec. 11, 2021, at his home. He worked as a dredger and crane operator in the gravel industry for many years. Wade was a member of Isabel Baptist Church, who enjoyed working in his garden and riding his tractor. He had a special place in his heart for his pets.
He is survived by his wife, Myrna Leader Polk of Isabel; daughter and son-in-law, Cathy Polk and Blane Oncale of Boutte; three step-daughters and their families; grandchildren, Allen Lee, Casey and Greg Duncan, and Brandon Lee; great-grandchildren, Jayce Lee, Grace Giannobile, Jesse Lee, and Jake Lee; sister, Shirley M. Polk Bascle; nieces and nephews, Beth and Paul Fowler, and Ben and Krystal Bascle; and also numerous other family members.
He was preceded in death by his son, Wade Louis Polk Jr.; first wife, Linda Lott Polk; parents, Lastee Polk and Etha Mizell Polk; brother, Bobby Polk; sister, Olivia Marlene Polk; brother-in-law, Torris J. Bascle; and nephew, Adam Bascle.
Visitation will be at Crain Funeral Home on Saturday, Dec. 18, from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 18, with the Rev. Eric Catha officiating. Burial will follow in the Isabel Baptist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Allen Lee, Greg Duncan, Jayce Lee, Paul Fowler, Robbie Mizell and Ben Bascle.
