On Dec. 8, 2021, Mr. James Franklin Thames passed away peacefully in his home, surrounded by family. Mr. Thames was born in Bogue Chitto, Miss., but raised in Bogalusa. He was a proud veteran of the Army National Guard and the U.S. Air Force. He attended Belle Fontaine Baptist Church, but was a member at North Gautier Baptist Church.

Mr. Thames is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Mrs. Martha Rae Ellis Thames; two grandchildren, Curtis (Amanda) Heck and Christy Gomillion; three great-grandchildren; one sister, Clara Faye (Billy) Graham; a sister-in-law, Gloria (Ronald) Breeding; and a host of nieces, nephews and other family members.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Debra Easterling; his parents, Robert and Mary Ethel Thames; one grandson, Robbie Heck; two brothers, Hugh Thames and Kenneth Thames; and two sisters, Rita Hall and Jeanette Rester.

Brown-McGehee Funeral Home was entrusted with all final arrangements. Visitation was on Monday, Dec. 13, from 9 a.m. until time of service at 1 p.m. by Bro. Curtis Heck. Interment immediately followed at Nobles Cemetery in Pine.
