Cookies with Santa at the Y
The Bogalusa YMCA is hosting “Cookies with Santa,” a memorable experience for your child. It will be Saturday, Dec. 11, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. and the cost is $25 per child. Make Christmas magical this year and give the gift of decorating cookies and spending some time with Santa Claus. The Y is located at 411 Ave. B. Call 985-732-3741 for more information.

Teddy Bear Tea
The Varnado Store Museum’s annual Teddy Bear Tea will be held Saturday, Dec. 11, in the Annex Building at the museum at 2 p.m. Youngsters will be treated to crafts, games, stories, gifts for Mom and Dad, and tea party refreshments. The price is $10 for foundation members and $12 for non-members. So put on your Christmas finery and join in the fun. Ages 5 to 10 years are welcome. Each child will choose a teddy bear to take home and might be surprised by a visit from a queen and Jolly Ole St. Nick. They will also tour the Museum’s “Holiday Time” exhibit, now on display. As seating is limited, reservations should be made in advance by calling Mary Jo Poole at 985-839-2261.

Heart of Pine Christmas Festival
Come join for a day of family fun at the Heart of Pine Christmas Festival, scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 11, from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. in Pine. There will be food, friends, games and fun. There will also be a visit from Santa and his elves, hot cocoa, tree lighting, a bake sale and cookie decorating.

Calvin’s Drive-thru Christmas Carnival
Calvin’s Drive-thru Christmas Carnival — bringing the community together in love, peace and unity — will be held Saturday, Dec. 11, from noon until 3 p.m. at the Just Us Family Group Home, located at 824 E. Seventh St. in Bogalusa. Please wear a mask and remain in your car, as this is a contact-free event. There will be family, faith, fun and a free gift give-a-way. Washington Parish drug take back
The “Washington Parish Drug Take Back” will be Thursday, Dec. 16, from 11:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. at Northshore Technical Community College, located at 1710 Sullivan Drive in Bogalusa. This will be another great opportunity to assist Washington Parish residents with safely discarding their unused medications. There will also be helpful educational prevention resources and pamphlets regarding ways to avoid medication misuse, along with other helpful information. This event is being sponsored by Access Health Louisiana and Your Community Healthcare Network.

Santa coming to Franklinton
Santa Claus is coming to the town of Franklinton on Friday, Dec. 17, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Town Hall. Come out and enjoy hot cocoa and peppermints. Special gifts will be given from the mayor and aldermen. This event is hosted by the Franklinton Social Planning Committee.

Christmas Give-a-way with Santa
Please join for the seventh annual “Christmas Give-a-way with Santa” for children 8 and under who reside in District A. However, if you reside outside the district, no child will be turned away. The event will be Saturday, Dec. 18, from 3 p.m. until 5 p.m. at the Poplas Quarters Recreational Center at Dobbs and 1-JJ Piper (next to the Coach Michael “Mike” Harrington Baseball Field). All may wear Christmas attire for the Christmas pageantry. Please bring along personal cameras for photos. Parents should accompany their children. This event is sponsored by Gloria W. Kates, Bogalusa City Council member for District A.

First annual “Christmasgiving”
The Good News Works Foundation will have the first annual “Christmasgiving” on Saturday, Dec. 18, from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. at Metropolitan Baptist Church, located at 1640 Charlevoix St. in Bogalusa. The event will feature the feeding of the citizens of Bogalusa, and the goal is to feed at least 300 or more families, have a toy giveaway and accept donations. Christmas Festival
Come join for a Christmas Festival on Saturday, Dec. 18, from 10 a.m. until noon at the Life Center at Bethlehem Baptist Church, located at 837 E. Seventh St. in Bogalusa. There will be foods, games, bounce houses, prizes and fun.

Franklinton city decorations
The Franklinton Social Committee, Mayor Greg Route and staff invite everyone to pass by and view the Christmas decorations at Franklinton Town Hall. They encourage every business and resident to follow suit in making the town the prettiest ever. Special thanks to Mr. and Mrs. David Anthony and the Maintenance Department for their services.
