Randy Pittman Fortenberry, a.k.a. “Country Cool,” 65, departed this world on Nov. 21, 2021, at University Hospital in New Orleans.

He was born on July 16, 1956, in Bogalusa, to the late Bernell and Lelia P. Fortenberry. He served in the U.S. Army, and was a hard worker while employed as a construction worker and cement finisher. He was the life of the party, loved to dance and sing “Sitting on the Dock of the Bay.”

Randy was a true competitor in sports, boxing, playing chess, cards and he loved ice cream LOL.

He leaves to cherish his memories his son, Savan “Bam” Fisher of Slidell; one granddaughter, Alaisha Savanyai Fisher of Alabama; two brothers, Donnie W. Pittman of Bogalusa, and Bernell Earl of Mississippi; four sisters, Emma Jean Gatlin, Elizabeth Fortenberry, Mary Ann (Michael) Robinson of Bogalusa, and Angela Earl (Billy) Perkins of McComb, Miss.; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Bernell Fortenberry; his mother, Lelia Mae Pittman Fortenberry; two beloved sisters, Donna Marie Fortenberry and Jean Catherine Gray; and one brother, Kenneth Magee.

Viewing will be Saturday, Dec. 4, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at Crain and Sons Funeral Home in Bogalusa. The funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. at Crain and Sons Funeral Home, with the Rev. Darrel Self officiating. Interment will be at the Ponemah Cemetery, located at 1136 Louisiana Ave. in Bogalusa.
