Mr. Herbert “Sonny” Wilson, a native and lifelong resident of Bogalusa, passed away Nov. 22, 2021, in New Orleans, at the age of 62.

Sonny was owner/operator of Sunshine Snowballs along side his wife, Mindy. Sonny loved to fish, hunt, and hang out with his family and friends. Sonny enjoyed making people laugh and he lived life to the fullest. He will be greatly missed and was always loved by the ones that knew him. Sonny was a member of Bogalusa First Church and his pastor was the Rev. Travis Houston.

Sonny is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Melinda “Mindy” Wilson of Bogalusa; a daughter, Lauren (Samuel Wells) Wilson of Bogalusa; a son, Shawn Wilson of Bogalusa; his brother, Greg (Tammy) Wilson of Hammond; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents Herbert Wilson Sr. and Gloria Wilson; and a brother, Ricky Wilson.

Visitation will be held at First Church on Saturday, Nov. 27, from 10 a.m. until time for the services at 2 p.m., with the Rev. Travis Houston, the Rev. Rick Strain, the Rev. Drew Galloway, the Rev. Ronald Wilson, the Rev. Kevin Cox, the Rev. David Wilson, and his wife Mindy will be officiating the service. Interment will follow at Pounds Cemetery in Bogalusa. Acting pallbearers will be Brandon Stogner, Zack Breland, Mike Kyle, Cody Davidson, Samuel Wells and Drew Galloway.
