SLU’s Makuvire ready for NCAA Cross Country Regionals Friday morning

Southeastern Louisiana University’s Bradley Makuvire will compete in the 2021 NCAA Division I Cross Country South Central Regional 10k race Friday morning at 11 a.m. at Cottonwood Creek Golf Course in Waco hosted by Baylor University.

Makuvire, a sophomore, has had a remarkable season to this point. The Zvishavane, Zimbabwe native is undefeated in four races, including winning the Southland Conference Championship 8k race Oct. 29 in Corpus Christi, Texas.

The two Southland Cross Country Athlete of the Week also garnered national attention when he was selected USTFCCCA National Athlete of the Week Oct. 11th after winning the Watson Invitational in Clinton, Mississippi.

Makuvire looks to qualify for the NCAA National Championships in Tallahassee, Florida Saturday, Nov. 20th hosted by Florida State.
