No. 24 Louisiana won its fourth-straight Sun Belt West Division title and clinched a spot in the Sun Belt Football Championship Game, while App State and No. 21/21 Coastal Carolina maintained their perch atop the Sun Belt East Division standings.

Fresh off a return to the national polls, No. 24 Louisiana outlasted Georgia State, 21-17, in front of a national television audience on Thursday evening to claim its fourth-straight Sun Belt West Division title. With the victory, the Ragin’ Cajuns matched the program record for consecutive wins with eight—a feat that was last achieved in 1976—and secured their fourth-straight appearance in the Sun Belt Football Championship Game.

A 118-yard, one-touchdown day for sophomore wide receiver Peter LeBlanc headlined Louisiana’s offensive performance in the division-clinching victory.

App State scored the final 34 points in a 48-14 rout of Arkansas State on Saturday to maintain its position atop the Sun Belt East Division standings. Senior defensive back Steven Jones Jr. tied a program record by intercepting three passes and scoring on a pair of interception returns.

A trick-play touchdown pass from super senior wide receiver Malik Williams to fellow super senior wide receiver Thomas Hennigan kickstarted the Mountaineer offense, which also produced a 100-yard rushing tandem in sophomore running back Nate Noel—122 yards and a touchdown—and junior running back Camerun Peoples—116 yards and a touchdown.

Texas State snapped a three-game skid with a 27-19 homecoming win over ULM, giving the Bobcats back-to-back wins in the series.

Troy prevailed over South Alabama, 31-24, in a one-possession game in the Battle for the Belt, earning bragging rights in the state of Alabama for the fourth-straight season. The Trojans scored 31-straight points—holding the Jaguars scoreless from the 10:24 mark in the first quarter until there were nine seconds remaining in the first half—turning a 7-0 deficit into a 31-7 advantage it would never relinquish in the process.

The Trojans and Jaguars each sit one win away from bowl eligibility at 5-4 on the season, with stiff schedules down the stretch. Troy welcomes No. 24 Louisiana and App State to Veterans Memorial Stadium, before concluding the regular season on the road at Georgia State. South Alabama visits App State and Tennessee ahead of a date with No. 21/21 Coastal Carolina at Hancock Whitney Stadium in its regular-season finale.

Despite playing without redshirt sophomore quarterback Grayson McCall—who was named 1-of-10 finalists for the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award and 1-of-15 semifinalists for the Maxwell Award this week—No. 21/21 Coastal Carolina upended Georgia Southern, 28-8.

The Chanticleer defense held the Eagles to just 233 yards of total offense, with freshman defensive end Josaiah Stewart providing a team-high six tackles, five tackles for loss, four sacks and two forced fumbles. Coastal Carolina senior quarterback Bryce Carpenter completed 13-of-20 passes for 84 yards and a touchdown and also added 44 yards and another touchdown in the ground game.
