Local fitness trainer Brandi Beaudette held her second boot camp that ran through Oct. 13.

Beaudette said she wanted to run another boot camp at Snap fitness, but wanted to offer something more than just a weight loss challenge to include a wider range of people’s goals.

“That’s how total body transformation was born,” Beaudette said. “We focus on not just weight loss, but all goals like muscle building, fat loss, strength, endurance, whatever your needs are. We have an amazing group of nine men and women of all ages, races and activity levels. We meet four days a week. Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 6:30 p.m. and Saturday morning at 8. Saturday mornings are outside. The other three days we utilize all forms of exercise.”

Some of the exercises they use are tabata, circuit, HITT, isometric, EMOM and AMRAP.

EMOM is a form of interval training where the goal is to complete a predetermined number of repetitions in a minute. In AMRAP, the participant does as many repetitions or rounds as possible before the clock runs out.

“This enables participants to learn what they like best,” Beaudette said. “Sometimes, some members have to work or leave early and that’s OK. They come get what they can or I’ll send them the workout and they complete it on their own. We have a Facebook page and homework daily. Everyday, we learn a new way to target nutrition from calculating each individual’s caloric needs, to learning how and why to count macros, to meal prepping. Yes we train hard, but the main focus is teaching the importance of nutrition and why it matters. There’s so much misinformation out there. Here, we clear the air and find out what works for you! Your results are our goal!”

Beaudette is holding another boot camp called Fit to the Core, starting Nov. 1 at Snap Fitness in Bogalusa. The boot camp goes until Dec. 6. The boot camp costs $300.
