The Southeastern Louisiana University volleyball team, already down by one set to its in-state rival, rallied from a 10-point deficit early in the second on its way to a, 21-25, 25-21, 25-20, 25-13, Southland Conference victory Thursday evening over Nicholls at Stopher Gym.

Nicholls (7-11, 0-6 SLC) built a seven-point lead in the opening set, although the Lady Lions (5-12, 4-2 SLC) eventually narrowed the gap to three before falling short.

The Colonels built a seemingly insurmountable 11-0 advantage to open up the second set, but Southeastern proceeded to score 16 of the next 20 points for a 16-15 lead. After a Nicholls kill tied the set, the Lady Lions continued to ride the momentum on their way to evening up the match.

SLU never trailed in the third set and used a double-digit run of its own in the final set to help seal the victory, moving into sole possession of third place in the conference standings.

Cicily Hidalgo, the Southland leader in kills, paced the Lady Lions with 11 in the match to go along with 12 digs. It was her seventh double-double of the season.

Preseason All-Conference selection Crispin Adams recorded 10 kills to go along with seven total blocks, a pair of service aces and an assist. Addie Vidrine and Hannah Brewer added eight kills apiece.

Gracie Duplechein (22 assists, 15 digs) and Ariana Hebert (17 assists, 12 digs) split setting duties, both turning in double-doubles. For Duplechein, it was her team-leading 10th of the season and it also marks the second time this fall both she and Hebert have posted double-doubles in the same match.

Vidrine led SLU with 20 digs, a career-high for the junior from Lafayette, Louisiana. Sophomore libero Calli Collins added 14 digs and a pair of service aces.
