Pine goes 2-1 in volleyball this week, Bogalusa topped by Pine, Springfield

Pine’s Lady Raiders won two of their three matches held Monday through Wednesday, while Bogalusa was defeated by Pine and Springfield in their contests that were held on Tuesday and Thursday.

On Monday, Pine was defeated by Loranger, 25-12, 25-22, 25-12, on the road.

Samone Daniels posted four kills, an ace and a block.

Hailey Martin recorded two kills and a dig.

Mya Starnes downed a kill and blocked a shot.

Abbi Schilling had two aces and two digs.

Cameron Magee tallied tallied a dig.

Kaitlyn Cochran served an ace.

The match was a non-district contest. The other two were District 4-IV games.

Tuesday’s match was a 25-17, 25-9, 25-2 win over Bogalusa at home.

Starnes recorded five kills.

Magee downed three kills and pulled up a dig.

Martin posted three kills.

Daniels posted two kills and a dig.

Gabby Ladner recorded two kills.

Cochran, Schilling and Deniqua Hewitt all posted a kill.

The next day was a 25-17, 25-20, 14-25, 25-15 win over Amite on the road.

Starnes downed 18 kills and served an ace.

Martin posted 17 kills along with an ace and a dig.

Daniels tallied 11 kills and four digs.

Schilling recorded six kills, three digs, an ace and a block.

Magee had five kills, a dig and an ace.

Cochran served four aces.

Bogalusa’s contests were against Pine and Springfield in District 4-IV play.

The match against Springfield was 25-4, 25-10, 25-6.

Pine will play again on Monday on the road against Pearl River in non-district action, while Bogalusa’s next match will take place on Tuesday at home against St. Helena College and Career Academy in District 4-IV play.
