No. 15/15 Coastal Carolina remains perfect after a 52-20 win at Arkansas State on Thursday, while Georgia State, Texas State and Troy all picked up Sun Belt Conference wins on Saturday in Week 6 of the football season.

The Chanticleers, predicted as a preseason favorite in the Sun Belt East Division, improved to 6-0 on the year.

App State, a co-preseason pick to win the Sun Belt East Division, and Louisiana, the league’s West Division preseason favorite, face off on Tuesday night in a much-anticipated 6:30 p.m. CT showdown on ESPN2. Both are undefeated in Sun Belt play.

Coastal Carolina on Thursday became the first FBS team this season to become bowl eligible. The Chanticleers earned their 11th consecutive Sun Belt Conference win in the 52-20 decision against Arkansas State in Jonesboro. Coastal totaled 685 yards of total offense – the second-most in a single game in program history – and scored on eight of its 13 offensive possessions. CCU senior tight end Isaiah Likely set a single-game school record with four touchdown catches, on an impressive 232 yards, with eight catches on nine attempts. Redshirt sophomore quarterback Grayson McCall threw for a career-best 365 yards and tied his career high with four touchdown passes.

Georgia State matched its school record for most points scored and set a new record for most points against an FBS opponent in a 55-21 victory against ULM at Malone Stadium in Monroe. Sophomore wide receiver Ja’Cyais Credle caught seven passes for 130 yards with a pair of touchdowns, while senior tight end Aubry Payne had six catches for 58 yards with two scores. Junior quarterback Darren Grainger threw for 230 yards with four TD passes. Six different Georgia State players scored touchdowns in the win.

Texas State overcame a 14-point fourth-quarter deficit Saturday to win a wild 33-31 four-overtime decision against South Alabama at Bobcat Stadium in San Marcos. In the fourth-overtime period, the Bobcats’ Brady McBride ran it into the end zone to put Texas State ahead. A South Alabama pass into the end zone was deflected to make the final margin.

Troy opened up to a 24-3 advantage early in the third quarter and held off a strong comeback by Georgia Southern to win 27-24 on Saturday at Veterans Memorial Stadium. Junior Brooks Buce kicked a 24-yard field goal with 1:46 left to break a 24-all tie. Sophomore quarterback Gunnar Watson threw for 270 yards with a pair of touchdowns to lead the way for the Trojans. Troy limited Georgia Southern to just 82 yards on the ground.
