ULM’s Courtney Marten and South Alabama’s Jaidy Gutierrez Campos each recorded dominant performances against Sun Belt Conference competition this past week to earn Sun Belt Women’s Soccer Player of the Week honors.

Women’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week
Courtney Marten, ULM

Warhawks’ junior forward Courtney Marten scored four goals on the week, including a hat trick, as ULM went 1-0-1 on a road trip to Georgia State and Coastal Carolina. In the process, Marten became ULM’s single-season goal-scoring leader with 11, despite having played in just six of eight matches this year and having come off the bench in five of them. She leads the nation in goals per game and her 11 total goals on the season rank second nationally. Marten scored her eighth goal of the year in Thursday’s 3-3 tie at Georgia State before becoming the first Warhawk ever to notch two hat tricks in her career in Sunday’s 6-1 victory at Coastal Carolina. She has helped ULM continue its historic start, as it is unbeaten in its first eight contests for the first time in program history. Sunday’s win at Coastal also marked ULM’s first Sun Belt Conference victory since Oct. 15, 2017, snapping a 30-match winless streak.

Women’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week
Jaidy Gutierrez Campos, South Alabama
(Fr., Mexico City, Mexico)

Jaguars’ freshman goalkeeper Jaidy Gutierrez Campos recorded two shutouts in two starts over the weekend, helping lead South Alabama to conference victories against Texas State and Louisiana. Gutierrez Campos played all 90 minutes in each game and totaled five saves on the weekend.
