Joyce Creel passed away Thursday, Sept. 23, 2021, at North Oaks Medical Center in Hammond, at the age of 68.

Joyce was a clerk at City Drug Store for 20 years. She loved spending time with her family, friends, camping and butterflies — she never met a stranger that she didn’t love. Joyce was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Crossroads, Miss.

She is survived by her loving husband of 41 years, Billy Wayne Creel Sr.; two sons, Casey Miller and his wife Sandy Miller of Bogalusa, and Billy Creel Jr. and his wife Felicia Creel of Poplarville, Miss.; one daughter Michelle Rambaud and her husband Shawn Rambaud “Rambo” of Bogalusa; one special brother-in-law, Michael Creel “Mike” of Bogalusa, and several other brothers and sisters-in-law; nine grandchildren, Zack Miller, Joseph Miller, Jay Hayman, Jordyn Miller, Hanna Simmons and Hailey Simmons, all of Bogalusa, and Destiny Creel, Macy Creel and Riley Creel of Poplarville; one great-grandchild, Addison Miller of Bogalusa; numerous nieces and nephews; two sisters, Nora Barber, June Lorio and the late Phillip Lorio, both of Bogalusa; and brothers, Vernon Corkern Jr., Toney Corkern, Johnny Corkern, of Bogalusa.

Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, Vernon Corkern, Sr., Evelyn Corkern, Mary Barber; her brother, Terry Corkern; and a special nephew, Tommy Wallace Jr.

Pallbearers included Joseph Miller, Jay Hayman, Logan Morrison, Shawn Rambaud, Jeremiah Bell and Matthew Corkern.

Visitation was held at Brown-McGehee Funeral Home in Bogalusa on Monday evening, Sept. 27, from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m., with services on Tuesday morning, Sept. 28, at 10 a.m. Interment immediately followed at Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery in Crossroads.
