James “Jimmy” Sibley

James Wesley “Jimmy” Sibley was born on May 2, 1939. He was a 1957 graduate of Bogalusa High School, where he played football for the Lumberjacks.

He attended Southeastern University and Louisiana Tech University. He was in the U.S. Air Force. He was a longtime resident of Slidell, and a lifelong Methodist. Jimmy was a medical equipment technician, having worked at Charity Hospital in New Orleans and other local hospitals in the medical field.

Mr. Sibley was preceded in death by his parents, J.W. and Eva Wedgeworth Sibley; his brother, Robert Dale Sibley; and his brothers-in-law, Barry Seidel and Charles King.

Jimmy is survived by his four sisters, Betty Powell (Charles) of Helena, Ark., Peggy King of Paulina, Gayle Fournet (Jeff) Slidell, and Carolyn Seidel of Shreveport. He is also survived by six nieces, five nephews, and two god-daughters.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend services on Tuesday, Sept. 28, at Elizabeth Sullivan Untied Methodist Church in Bogalusa, visitation beginning at noon until service time at 2 p.m. Officiating services will be the Rev. James Moore. Interment will immediately follow at Hillview Memorial Gardens.
