The Pearl River volleyball team fell behind after the first set but claimed three consecutive sets to beat Louisiana College Monday, winning 3-1 (22-25, 30-28, 25-15, 25-19).

“Man, I am so pumped about the way these girls played tonight,” coach Haley Chatham said. “They came out with no fear to put themselves back in it in set two and stayed that way for the rest of the night. It was our best energy match of the season no doubt and I want to thank every single player for that.”

Everything seemed to be going right for Louisiana College (0-3 overall) in the first set of the day as they jumped out to an early lead.

Pearl River (11-2) battled back and kept the score close for the remainder of the set, but Louisiana College eventually closed it out, earning the 25-22 win.

PRCC and LC battled with each other for the entirety of the second set, playing well past the 25-point mark. Pearl River eventually evened the set score up at one each with a 30-28 win.

Pearl River displayed dominance in the third set of the day, controlling the set from start to finish. PRCC stretched its lead out and went on to claim the match 25-15, taking the lead in the match 2-1.

Pearl River went on to claim the fourth set by a score of 25-19, winning the match in the process.

The Wildcats hit the road on Wednesday to take on Coastal Alabama-South at 6 p.m. before returning to Shivers Gymnasium on Friday to host Itawamba at 5 p.m.
