During a special press conference Tuesday afternoon, Bogalusa Mayor Wendy Perrette encouraged citizens to work hand in hand with law enforcement officials to fight the recent scourge of violent crime in the community.

“If you see something, say something,” she said.

Perrette and other officials, including Washington Parish President Richard “Ned” Thomas Jr. and District Attorney Warren Montgomery, noted that law enforcement agencies have tip lines and callers can remain anonymous.

Also speaking Tuesday was Darlene Cusanza, CEO of Crimestoppers GNO. Crimestoppers is a non-profit serving a nine-parish region of southeastern Louisiana including Washington Parish. Citizens can use Crimestoppers to anonymously provide information about local crimes without needing to contact a law enforcement agency.
