Little Rock’s Laura Jansen and Arkansas State’s Tatum Ticknor and Lauren Musante all turned in standout performances against non-conference competition this past weekend to earn Sun Belt Volleyball Player of the Week honors.

Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week
Laura Jansen, Little Rock
(Sr., Doetinchem, Netherlands)

Trojans’ senior outside hitter Laura Jansen was the Most Valuable Player of the LA Tech Invitational this past weekend, helping lead Little Rock to its sixth consecutive victory. She averaged 4.20 kills per set and 3.80 digs per set. She recorded two double-doubles in the team’s three matches. Jansen also served up three aces and was credited with four blocks. She ranks second in the Sun Belt Conference in both kills and kills per set.

Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week
Tatum Ticknor, Arkansas State
(Jr., Grapevine, Texas)

Red Wolves’ junior libero Tatum Ticknor earned MVP honors at the Tiger Brawl in Memphis, Tenn. She led Arkansas State to a 3-0 weekend in Memphis, recording 59 total digs (5.36/set). She not only was a standout on the back row, but also aided in the Red Wolves’ offensive attack, handing out 23 assists (2.09/set), including 11 on Saturday vs. UAPB to notch a double-double. This is the second consecutive Sun Belt Defensive Player of the Week accolade for Ticknor.

Volleyball Setter of the Week
Lauren Musante, Arkansas State
(Jr., Maitland, Fla.)

Red Wolves’ junior setter Lauren Musante was the top setter of a three-setter committee for the Red Wolves over the weekend, averaging 6.18 assists per set. She led Arkansas State in two of its three matches, while notching double-doubles in all three outings. She turned in a season-high 26 digs in the finale vs. UAPB on Saturday. Musante has recorded five double-doubles during the Red Wolves’ five-match winning streak.
