Danny E. Borde was born in Bogalusa on Sept. 3, 1946, and passed away on Sept. 8, 2021. He was an Air Force Vietnam veteran and served in the position of Crew Chief on the C130 aircraft. Danny had his priorities straight in loving God, his family, and his country.

He was a loving, dedicated husband to Reatha, his wife of 47 years, and wonderful father to his sons, Ryan and Jason Borde.

He enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid backpacker, hiking miles in the mountains with his wife and sons. In the days before his death, he was planning yet another backpacking trip in northern Alabama.

Danny is survived by his wife, Reatha Borde, and sons, Ryan Borde and Jason Borde. He is also survived by his sister, Henri-Ellen Johnson; brother-in-law, John Johnson; nephews, Guy and Mark Johnson; his mother-in-law, Jessie Harvey; numerous cousins and many good friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Henry; his mother, Leah; and brothers, Don and Barry.

Danny was very tenderhearted, always helping out the person who seemed to be the underdog. To know that he left this earth in an instant to stand in the presence of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and the family and friends who greeted him, is a beautiful comfort to his family.

Danny was 75 years old when the Lord called him home, reminding him that years before He had called him by name and Danny was His. (Isaiah 43:1) We are once again reminded that this life is but a vapor and our hope is Jesus Christ.
