Bowling Green wins 2-of-3 in tourney

Bowling Green School won two of its three games in the Brookhaven Academy Tournament on Saturday and then defeated Oak Forest Academy on Monday outside of tournament play.

The Lady Buccaneers were defeated by Jackson Preparatory School, 3-0.

Katherine Burris singled twice.

Kylee Burris posted a hit.

Bowling Green defeated Tri-County Academy, 7-4.

Burris posted two hits, including a double, with a run batted in and a run scored.

Cassidy Spears singled twice, tallied two runs driven in and two runs scored.

Anna Claire Crowe had two hits and two runs scored.

Maddie Thomas logged two singles, a run scored and an RBI.

Albanie Fussell put up two singles and drove in a run.

Kylee Burris and K.K. Seal both singled, drove in a run and scored a run

Hallie Serigne singled.

Bowling Green topped Newton County Academy, 8-7.

Spears went 3-for-3 with a run scored and an RBI.

Crowe homered, drove in two and scored two runs in a two-hit game.

Katherine Burris singled and scored three runs.

Fussell singled and drove in a run.

Hallie Serigne, Seal and Grace Savarese all had a hit.

Kylee Burris drove in a run, while Aubrie Galloway and Elizabeth Wilkinson both drove in a run.

On Monday, Bowling Green was topped by Oak Forest Academy, 14-13, on the road.

Oak Forest Academy trailed 13-7, but scored seven runs in the seventh for the win.

Spears and Thomas both tallied two hits, including a double, three RBIs and two runs scored.

Wilkinson went 3-for-4 with two RBIs and a run scored.

Hallie Serigne had two hits, two runs scored and a run batted in.

Crowe singled twice and drove in two runs.

Fussell posted two hits and a run scored.

Katherine Burris singled, scored two runs and drove in a run.

Seal singled and scored two runs.

Kylee Burris scored a run.

Bowling Green’s next game is Thursday against Clifton Christian Academy at Southwest Community College.
