Mrs. Verda B. Breland, a resident of Baton Rouge, passed away Aug. 30, 2021, at the age of 97.

Mrs. Verda is survived by her children, Ronald (Cathy) Breland of Baton Rouge, and Judy Breland McDaniel of Houston, Texas. She is also survived by her four grandchildren, Ron (Ashley) McDaniel of Baton Rouge, Ragan (Lacey) McDaniel of Houston, Charles (Inga) Johnson of Prairieville, Kimberly (Wade) Woodward of Dutchtown; and numerous great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Mrs. Verda was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest L. Breland; her parents, Robert and Margana Cooper; and 10 brothers and sisters.

A graveside service was held on Thursday, Sept. 2, at 1 p.m. at Ponemah Cemetery, with the Rev. Bruce Morris officiating.
