The Southeastern Louisiana University volleyball team will compete Friday in an impromptu round-robin tournament in Auburn, Alabama along with Cal State Fullerton and host Auburn.

Southeastern (0-2) will face Cal State Fullerton (1-1) at 11:30 a.m. Friday and the host Tigers (2-0) later that evening at 7:30 p.m. in Auburn Arena.

All three were originally slated to participate in the Southeastern Showdown at the University Center in Hammond this weekend, along with Southern, but the four-team event was canceled in the wake of Hurricane Ida.

The Lady Lions leading attackers this season are Addie Vidrine (2.14 kills/set), a junior from Lafayette, Louisiana, and Cicily Hidalgo (2.11 k/set), a freshman from Opelousas, Louisiana. Preseason All-Conference selection Crispin Adams, a junior from Brookshire, Texas, leads the team with three service aces and is tied for second on the squad in blocks (0.44) per set. She also ranks third in kills (1.67) per set.

Gracie Duplechein (4.00 assists/set), a freshman from St. Amant, Louisiana, and Ariana Hebert (3.22 a/set), a junior from Lafayette, have shared setting duties.

India Bennett, a freshman middle blocker from Prairieville, Louisiana, leads the team in blocking (1.43 b/set) and ranks fourth in the Southland Conference. Ansley Tullis, a sophomore libero from Slidell, Louisiana, leads the team with 3.78 digs per set, ranking seventh in the Southland.

SLU dropped a pair of matches at the StarkVegas Classic, falling to Gonzaga in five sets and host Mississippi State in four.

Auburn swept a pair of matches against Tennessee Tech and Jackson State to open the season in its own War Eagle Classic. The Titans split a pair of matches opening weekend, falling to New Mexico and the defeating Fordham, in its own Titan Classic.

Following its opening weekend participation in the StarkVegas Classic, the SLU volleyball team chose to remain in Starkville, Mississippi out of the direct path of the storm.

Southeastern is currently slated to return to action, Sept. 7, against Jackson State in Jackson, Mississippi.
