Georgia Southern’s Montoya, ULM’S Hillock Garner Sun Belt Weekly Honors

Georgia Southern’s Marcela Montoya and ULM’s Hailey Hillock led their teams to undefeated weekends en route to Sun Belt Conference Women’s Soccer Player of the Week accolades.

Women’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week

Eagles graduate student midfielder Marcela Montoya recorded four goals and an assist on five shots in Georgia Southern’s wins against Jacksonville and Charleston Southern this weekend. In the victory against the Buccaneers, she notched just the 13th hat trick in program history and the first since 2015 with three goals. It marked her third career multi-goal match.

Women’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week
Hailey Hillock, ULM
(Jr., Herriman, Utah)

Warhawks junior goalkeeper Hailey Hillock recorded a pair of shutouts this weekend, playing all 180 minutes, as ULM defeated Central Arkansas and Grambling State to improve to 3-0 on the season for just the third time in program history. Hillock totaled four saves in each match this weekend. Her two shutouts on the year rank 14th nationally.
