Bowling Green School’s Buccaneers were defeated by Centreville, 38-16, to begin the season at home on Friday.

“We drove the ball down inside the 20 our first two drives and fumbled the ball,” Bowling Green School coach Riley Boudreaux said. “Centreville played good hard nosed football and we had a lot of missed assignments.”

Nathan Jenkins scored both of Bowling Green’s touchdowns on runs.

Bowling Green’s next game will be on Friday in a road contest against Tri-County Academy. Tri-County Academy won their opener, 47-7, over Indianola Academy.

“They’re a really good physical football team,” Boudreaux said. “They’re big and fast. They’ve got two really good backs. We’re going to have to tackle them all night. Defensively, they’ve got a really good defensive front and they play physical and downhill. We’re going to have to play physical to protect Nathan to make holes.”
