The Bogalusa Historic Cultural District (BHCD) council announced Tuesday that the upcoming Fall Ramble, originally scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 16, has been postponed.

The event was scheduled to take place in Bogalusa on that day, but it has been delayed for concern of public health and safety during the COVID-19 pandemic, according to the BHCD council’s Facebook page. The event will be rescheduled for another date, to be determined.

“A decision has not been made on whether the live concert and street fair (scheduled for the evening of Oct. 16) will happen,” the post states. “The BHCD council will be observing and making a decision soon.”

Earlier this year, the Louisiana Trust for Historic Preservation had selected Washington Parish as its next Ramble location. The Ramble is designed to be a unique educational experience to “see and learn about the different parts of Louisiana’s historic character.” Two Rambles are typically held each year.

The plan was to hold a tour that would welcome history buffs, teachers and student groups from all corners of the state, to discover the history and architecture of the parish.

The Ramble is still scheduled to come to Washington Parish; it will just take a longer time than originally expected.
