Lady Buccaneers cruise to opening day win

Bowling Green School’s Lady Buccaneers jumped out to a 7-0 lead through one inning in a 13-0 victory over Adams County Christian School in five innings during Friday’s opener on the road.

Maddie Thomas and Albanie Fussell recorded three hits each.

Thomas drove in two runs and scored a run, while Fussell doubled and posted a run batted in.

Anna Claire Crowe and Cassidy Spears tallied two hits each.

Crowe drove in three runs and scored two runs, while Spears scored two runs.

Kylee Burris, Katherine Burris and Hallie Serigne all had one hit.

Serigne posted three RBIs and two runs scored, while Kylee Burris drove in two runs and scored three runs and Katherine Burris doubled, scored a run and drove one home.

Elizabeth Wilkinson drove in a run, while Catherine Manton and Grace Savarese scored a run each.

Olivia Serigne and Laken Culpepper combined on the shutout in the circle.

Serigne threw four innings, allowing three hits with two strikeouts and three walks. Culpepper pitched a hitless inning with a strikeout.

Bowling Green will be back in action on Wednesday, Aug. 4 on the road against Parklane Academy in a makeup contest from Monday’s game that was postponed because of rain.
