Kelvin Darnell Holmes departed this earthly life on July 23, 2021, at Our Lady of the Angels Hospital in Bogalusa.

Kelvin was a gentle, kind young man who made friends easily. He was a graduate of Bogalusa High School and attended Sullivan Vocational School in Bogalusa.

Kelvin loved his family and enjoyed gathering with family and friends. He enjoyed playing games and watching television. He accepted Jesus Christ as his savior on June 3, 2007, and was baptized on June 10, 2007, at New Triumph Baptist Church, under the leadership of the Rev. E.L. Powell.

Kelvin leaves to cherish his precious memories: a very special son he raised, Demarcus Miller of Bogalusa; his loving mother, Kayla A. Holmes; father, Joseph (Linda) Holmes Jr.; brother, Keith Holmes of Bogalusa, Anthony Holmes of Anchorage, Alaska, Joey Henry of Bay Saint Louis, Mo., Reginald Henry of Pearl River, and Sean Hill of Bogalusa; two sisters, Keli Holmes of Pearl River, and Jah’Narie Ramsey of Donaldsonville; one niece, Kajarne Henry of Bogalusa; one nephew, Derrick (Shawanna) Forrest of Seattle, Wash.; three great-nieces of Bogalusa; one great-nephew of Bogalusa; very special friend, Carol Miller of Bogalusa; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Kelvin was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Althea R. Pigott and Cleveland Henry; maternal grandparents, Joseph Holmes Sr. and Oveda Holmes; and a host of aunts, uncles and cousins.

A drive-through viewing was Friday, July 30, from noon until 2 p.m., followed by the funeral service at 2 p.m. at Crain and Sons Chapel in Bogalusa with the Rev. E.L. Powell officiating. Interment was at Bogalusa Cemetery.
