“Please don’t say that I gave up, just say I gave in. Don’t say I lost the Battle, for it was God’s war to lose or win. Please don’t say how good I was, but that I did my best. Just say I tried to do what’s right, to give the most I could, not to do less. Please don’t give me wings or halos, that’s for God to do. I want no more than I deserve, no extras just my due.”

Audrey Louise Levi was born on Oct. 8, 1963, to Carter (Dub) Keller and Clotial Burrell Keller. She departed her earthly life on July 3, 2021, at Our Lady of the Angels Hospital in Bogalusa, at the tender age of 57.

She was loved by everyone who knew her. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She became a mother to numerous children in the Angie and Varnado communities. She loved helping other people in any capacity she could. Audrey was one to never saw no to anyone who asked her to complete a task. Her passion was crocheting and creating all kinds of unique items for any and every one.

Audrey joined Mary’s Chapel United Methodist Church at a very early age, and she remained a member here until her untimely passing. She was a graduate of Varnado High School, and joined the workforce upon graduation. One of her most fondest memories of her work life was working at Shoney’s Restaurant in Covington, with the late Linda Faye Sheridan. After working there, she was employed at Walmart of Bogalusa, and she stayed there until her health began declining.

Audrey leaves to cherish her memories: her children, LaToya Keller, Bryan Keller and Eldrian (Tisha) Levi; her grandchildren, Ke’Aisha Keller, Audrianna Keller and Mary Keller; her husband, Tracy Thomas; her parents, Clotial (John) Jackson; three aunts, Clementine (Lovell) Galloway, Leaundria Keller and Ora Mae Peters; two uncles, Ellis (Louise) Burrell Jr. and Loran (Delores) Peters Jr.; her siblings, Tracey Keller, Jeffery (Raven) Jackson and Shuntellia Jackson; six godchildren, Anthony Harry Jr., Willie Smith, Morgan Foster Jr., D’Ellis Johnson, Luther Butler and Jameson May; a special friend, Helen Weary; her godmother, Mavella Moore; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, Carter (Dub) Keller; grandparents, Ellis Burrell Sr., Julia Burrell, Letha Keller and Wallace (Red) Keller; and a granddaughter, Kendra Simone Keller.

The funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 8, at 11 a.m. at Mary’s Chapel U.M.C. The Rev. Terrance August will officiate and the Rev. Lawrence Young wil bring the eulogy. Interment will be in Robinson Cemetery.
