Fund-raising now underway for Veterans Memorial Park

Fundraising for Our Veterans Memorial Park to honor veterans has begun. The project will convert the property at Dollar Road and Louisiana Highway 10 into a designed area with a variety of trees, paths (brick memorials), benches, U.S. flag, flags of the service branches, and memorials designed to inspire and encourage visitors to stay and make return visits.
It will be a place of celebration, ceremony, and solemn remembrance in honor of those who have given military service for this great country.
The committee plans to raise the amount privately, through grants, and including donations of labor and material.
The Our Veterans Memorial Park Committee recently visited the site at 54042 Dollar Road at Highway 10, to map out the grounds for the layout of the park structures and to evaluate the trees on the property.
Donations should be submitted to P.O. Box 326, Franklinton, LA 70438. Checks are to be made payable to “Our Veterans Memorial Park (OVMP).”
