Angie Little League Football holding registration
Angie Little League Football will be holding registration for football players and cheerleaders on Saturday, July 10 at the Pride and Hope Activity Center located at 29580 Highway 21 in Angie.
It is open to football players and cheerleaders ages 5-12.
Signups will be from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The cost is $50 per child.
The first game is scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 28.
Those who are interested in coaching or being a volunteer are welcome to join.

Franklinton Youth Football, Cheer Registration
Franklinton Youth Football and Cheer in-person Registration will be taking place on four different dates.
The signups will be held on Saturday, July 10 and Friday and Saturday, July 16 and 17.
Registration will take place at the FYFA Booth at the Farmer’s Market from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.
Participants can also register online by following the link on their Facebook page.
The deadline to signup is July 17.

D.W. Trosclair Basketball Camp is in July
The D.W. Trosclair Basketball Camp will take place from July 14-16 in Varnado High School’s gym.
The camp is open for kindergartners through eighth graders.
The clinic will teach the participants offensive and defensive skills to be a better basketball player.
The clinic will feature skill stations, shooting stations, 3-on-3 games and contests and 5-on-5 games and contests.
The camp will run from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. and is open to boys and girls from kindergarten through eighth grade.
The cost is $25 per child. If the children live in the same home, the cost is $15 per child.

Sports Work Academy Basketball Camp
The 14th Annual Sports Work Academy Basketball camp will be returning to Bogalusa this year under the direction of former Bogalusa All-District performer Michael Galloway and former LSU and Portland Trailblazer star Nikita Wilson.
The camp will take place at the Ave B YMCA on Saturday, July 17 starting at 9 a.m.
The list of coaches will be highlighted by Coach O’Brian Calahan, founder and head coach at Only Basketball Elite, a top tier sports program that teaches aspiring athletes the foundational skills to excel. Calahan attended Jonesboro Hodge High School where he was an all-state performer and district MVP. Calahan went on to play at Alcorn St. and Tennessee Temple University.
Three of Galloway’s high school teammates will be attending, including Eric Brister, Attorney Lee Gallaspy and Chav Pierce.
Murrell Galloway will return as the coaches captain.
Registration will be at 8:30 a.m. on camp day.

Franklinton Soccer Club Fall Season starts in August
The Franklinton Soccer Club will host the Fall Season beginning the week of Aug. 9 through Sept. 25.
Registration is open at www.franklintonsoccerclub.com.
Players ages 3 by Jan. 1, 2021 to age 19 are welcome.
The $60 membership fee is paid once per year and covers the spring & fall seasons.
Uniforms for ages 3-6 are $20 and can be used yearly. Uniforms for those above 6 are $70 and include two jerseys, one shorts and socks. Those can be worn yearly until the player has outgrown them.
The early bird sign up for uniforms ends on Monday, July 5.
After that time, there will be a $10 late fee to process uniforms, which take 4 weeks to print and ship. The club plays at Atoka Recreation Park, which is located two miles from the Washington Parish Fairgrounds on Louisiana Highway 25.

Southern Miss Baseball Set to Hold a Variety of Camps This Summer
After a year hiatus, Southern Miss baseball returns with a variety of camp options including a a Kids clinic (July 12-15), a Prospect Showcase Camp (July 17), a team camp (July 23-25) and a Father-Son/Daughter Camp (Aug. 21) this summer at Pete Taylor.

The USM Baseball Summer Kids Camp is designed to teach the fundamentals of baseball such as hitting, fielding, pitching, base running, etc. in a fun environment. Each kid will have the ability to learn the fundamentals of the game of baseball from the entire University of Southern Mississippi baseball coaching staff, and then use what they have learned in game settings at the end of each camp day.
The USM Baseball Summer Prospect Showcase Camp will be Saturday, July 17 at Pete Taylor Park/Hill Denson Field.
Registration/sign-in is from 11 a.m. until noon.
The clinic starts at noon and is open to ninth graders through sophomore junior college players.
The participant fee is $200.
The Summer Prospect Showcase Camp is designed for prospective student-athletes ranging from high school freshman to junior college sophomores (junior college freshman must be academic qualifier) to showcase their abilities in front of the entire University of Southern Mississippi baseball coaching staff along with other college coaches and scouts. Participants will be given a chance to have their skills (hitting, fielding, speed, pitching, etc.) evaluated by college coaches. Any pitcher who is a dual player will be able to participate at both positions. Each camper will receive a camp T-Shirt. Lunch will not be provided. Approximately, 75% of past USM baseball rosters have been filled by USM camp participants.

The USM Summer Team Camp is from Friday, July 23 through Sunday, July 25 at Pete Taylor Park/Hill Denson Field.
The cost is $800 entry plus $60 per game for umpires (paid to umpire by each team prior to the game).
The entry fee per team includes three games (possibly four), which will be played at USM. It will also cover insurance for the camp and facility usage. Team will be separated by age group (18u versus 18u and so on). A game bracket will be made up in the weeks leading up to camp so you know when you play. Teams will be responsible for their own lodging and game balls. Teams that win their bracket will play in championship games on Sunday.
The USM Father Son/Daughter Camp is being held on Saturday, Aug. 21 at Pete Taylor Park/Hill Denson Field.
Registration/sign-in is from 12:30 p.m. to 1 p.m.
The clinic runs from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Eligible participants are kindergartners through eighth graders and their father/guardian.
The fee is $100 per father and one son or daughter and $50 for each additional child.
The Southern Miss Baseball Father Son/Daughter Camp is an opportunity to spend an afternoon with your son or daughter on the baseball field at Pete Taylor Park / Hill Denson Field. This camp will provide an outstanding bonding opportunity for the parent and child while also learning the game of baseball and developing an understanding of key fundamentals in maximizing their son’s full potential. Teaching areas will include pitching, hitting, catching, infield and outfield play. The goal of this one-day camp is to provide answers and training solutions to the questions that are most often asked by today’s fathers and youth league players.
