Mr. Michael Lee Burnside, a resident of Franklinton, passed away June 25, 2021, in New Orleans. Mr. Burnside was born June 17, 1962, in Bogalusa, to the late James Lamar Burnside Sr. and Joyce McCain.

Mr. Burnside is survived by his mother, Joyce M. Burnside of Brandon, Miss.; a daughter, Michelle Schmidt of Texarkana, Texas; and three sons, Wesley Schmidt of Brandon, Kerry Schmidt of Brandon, and Jason Schmidt of Florence, Miss. He is also survived by his siblings, James (Michelle) Burnside Jr. of Franklinton, Mark Burnside of Brandon, Dennis (Katina) Burnside of Brandon, and also his fiancé, Elizabeth Joyce Burnside of Franklinton; and numerous grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Mr. Burnside was preceded in death by his father, James Lamar Burnside Sr.; a son, Jeremy Schmidt; and a grandson, Christopher Casaus.

Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. with services beginning at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, June 30, at Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Keith Branch officiating. Interment will follow at Bonnie Cemetery in Angie.
