Riverside Medical Center (RMC) in Franklinton has continued to monitor COVID-19 infection rates in its community since the beginning of the pandemic. Hospital staff said Friday afternoon that they have consistently observed a downward trend over the last several months and have decided to return to previous policies and procedures, allowing easier access for patients and visitors.

On Monday, June 21, RMC will reopen the main entrance to the facility, located at the front of the hospital, from 6 a.m. until 6 p.m., allowing easier access to outpatient departments and surgery. After hours, only the rear entrance will be open. Patients must enter the facility either through the main entrance or the rear entrance. With this reopening, RMC is also proud to announce the addition of a new wheelchair access ramp that was provided by the generous donations of Cargill, Mr. Richard Watts, Mrs. Claire McGuire, Riverside Medical Center Foundation, and Support Riverside PAC. Both Riverside’s front and back entrance will be staffed by screeners to ensure the mask mandate is followed and anyone experiencing COVID-19 related symptoms is quickly guided to the appropriate location of the hospital. Also, beginning Monday, RMC will resume its pre-COVID visitor policy, which will be posted online at www.rmchospital.com.

In efforts to standardize care, RMC will move COVID-19 vaccines into a more permanent clinic setting. The Pfizer vaccine can be given to individuals, ages 12 years and older, with parental consent obtained for anyone under the age of 18.
