Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

Pine High School’s Coby Sheridan

Pine High School’s Coby Sheridan is a baseball player for the Raiders.

Sheridan, who is a senior, is a pitcher and centerfielder.

Sheridan was a first-team all-district player his sophomore year.

The majority of last season was canceled because of the pandemic.

“It has been a joy to see Coby grow and mature over the last few years,” Pine baseball coach Blake Dillon said. “He has been a player who loves the game and plays hard every time he steps on the field I wish Coby good luck in the future.”

What do you enjoy most about playing your sport?

I love playing with my team and I love having coach Blake and all of my coaches helping me out through thick and thin and troubles I’ve had. I love being there for my team and helping them out when they need me the most.

What do you like best about being a student athlete?

Knowing that I have to push my hardest to keep my grades up, doing things for the school and making sure I’m on the right path for when I get out of school and knowing I’m on the right path for a successful life.

Who has been the most influential person in your school sports career? Why?

My mom (Rhonda Sheridan) because she’s been there since I was little pushing me to do my best.

Also (former Pine assistant baseball) coach Trey Jenkins because he’s been there for me no matter what I needed. He’s always pushed me to play my hardest.

Coach Blake because he has been there for me since day one.

Who is your favorite athlete? Why?

My brother (former Pine baseball player) Kendall Sheridan (2020 graduate) and Derek Jeter. My brother has been playing ball with me since we were little. He’s always been there for me. He’s been a big inspiration to me because he’s always pushed me to do my best and he’s been a big part of my life in helping me play the sport I love. Derek Jeter because he did everything he could do for his team and he played his hardest no matter what.

Favorite team?

Pine Raiders.

Best thing about living in Washington Parish?

How our community comes together and how our school loves sports. If anybody needs anything, somebody’s always there.
