Marion Russell Pierce, 79, born on Nov. 12, 1941, near Brookhaven, Miss., passed away on Wednesday, April 28, 2021, at her residence in Angie.

Marion regularly attended Pine Grove Missionary Baptist Church, where she was a member. She loved taking her family on summer vacations and especially loved spoiling her grandchildren. She was co-owner of Zesto’s with Mary Lee Mckenzie for 55 years. Marion was a great seamstress and made children coronation costumes for her children and continued that work for many generations.

She is survived by a daughter, Melanie (Steve) Hoover; a son, Scott (Cathy) Pierce; grandchildren, Drake and Blake Pierce, Abby (Trevor) Parker, MaryClaire, AnnaGrace, SaraBeth, KatiRose and JohnRoss Hoover; a great-grandchild, Owen Parker; a brother, Charles Russell; sister-in-law, Mary Lee (Shelby) McKenzie; nieces, Hope McGinn, Madonna Williams and Crystal Corkern; two nephews, Chuck Russell and Randy Russell; and numerous other great-nieces and great-nephews.

Marion was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Melvin Pierce; and her parents, Jesse W. Russell, and Inez Smith Russell.

Visitation will be held at Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home on Saturday, May 1, from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. Funeral services will begin at 4 p.m. at Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Duane Ball officiating. Interment will follow at Rester Cemetery.
