Franklinton’s McKinley Burt and Keaton Catrett are headed to the state meet after qualifying at the tennis regionals that took place on Monday and Tuesday at the University of New Orleans.

Both players had a bye in the first round and then went 1-1.

Burt won her match after the bye against Lakeshore, 6-0, 6-0.

Catrett was victorious in his match, 6-0, 6-3.

Both were defeated in their next match, 6-0, 6-0.

Burt was defeated by St. Scholastica Academy, while Catrett was defeated by Lusher.

Players had to finish in the top eight.

The state meet will take place on Monday and Tuesday at the University of Louisiana of Monroe.
