BGS senior wins state oratorical contest

Bowling Green School senior Kamryn Passman was recently announced as the winner of the Louisiana American Legion Oratorical State Contest as a representative of Post 24 in Bogalusa.

Passman is the daughter of Lesley and Billy Passman of Franklinton.

As a senior at BGS, Passman is an active member and officer in the Beta Club, 4-H Club, Live Out Loud, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Mu Alpha Theta, and Student Council. She is also the co-captain of the Varsity Dance Line, Buccanettes, and a member of the golf team.

Passman is also a member of the U.S. Sea Cadet Corps as the first female Petty Officer in Louisiana.

With future plans to attend LSU in the Odgen Honors College, Passman will be majoring in biochemistry on the pre-medical track. Upon graduation, she plans to pursue a career as a trauma surgeon in the U.S. Navy.

In 2019, Passman was the Louisiana State Veterans of Foreign Wars Voice of Democracy Essay Contest winner.

Passman is very excited for the future, and she cannot wait to begin the journey.
