Pine victorious over Pope John Paul II

Pine’s Lady Raiders scored in every inning, capped off by a nine-run fifth, Kiyasha Clark homered and Addyson Phelps went 4-for-4 in a 17-3 victory over Pope John Paul II in a road game on Wednesday.

The game was tied, 3-3, through an inning, but the Lady Raiders tallied two runs each in the second and third before adding a run in the fourth and nine more in the fifth, while holding Pope John Paul II scoreless the last four innings in the “mercy rule” win.

Clark hit her third homer of the season. Clark drove in three runs and scored two runs as part of a two-hit day.

Phelps doubled twice and tripled once, while missing the cycle by only a homer. She tallied an RBI and four runs scored.

Alyssa Phelps posted two hits, including a triple with three runs scored.

Bailey Brooks singled, doubled, drove in three runs and scored a run.

Makia Clark recorded two hits, two runs batted in and a run scored.

Dillon Sumrall singled twice and scored two runs.

Lily Crain had a hit, an RBI and two runs scored.

Kirbee Magee and Baleigh Dunn both singled, scored a run and drove one home.

Sumrall pitched three no-hit, no-run innings in relief with a strikeout.
