Bogalusa’s Ladner victorious in the javelin

Bogalusa’s Mary Ladner was victorious in the javelin at the Cowboy Relays on Thursday at Jewel Sumner.

Ladner won the javelin with a distance of 74 feet, 6 inches. Loranger’s Lorielei was second at 59-1. Franklinton’s Isabella Lambert came in sixth place in the javelin with a throw of 36-2.

Bogalusa and Franklinton were the local teams competing in the meet.

Two locals were fifth in events in Franklinton teammates Paulina Martinez and Zoriea Gore.

Martinez was fifth in the 1,600-meter hurdles with a time of 6 minutes, 52 seconds. West Feliciana’s Samantha Ponzo won in 5:44.

Gore came in fifth for the 100 hurdles at 20.96 seconds. West Feliciana’s Caitlyn Turner was victorious in the event in 16.71.

Franklinton’s 4×200 team took sixth in 2:06. The team had Trinity Bryant, Alexia Mason, Hope Phelps and Derranajuh Warren. West Feliciana won in 1:48.

Franklinton’s 4×100 relay team, which featured Bryant, Mason, Phelps and Warren, was seventh with a time of 58.76. West Feliciana’s 51.52 was the winning time.

Ladner and teammate Caitlyn Holloway and Franklinton’s Phelps were seventh, 12th and 14th with times of 13.67, 14.16 and 14.86. Loranger’s Tori Burton won in 12.87.

Holloway and Franklinton teammates Phelps and Seiana Wilson came in seventh, ninth and 11th in the 200 with times of 31.13, 32.27 and 43.51. Burton was the winner in 26.61.

Martinez took seventh for the 800 in 3:10. West Feliciana’s Mathilde Fox-Smith won in 2:33.

Lambert came in ninth in the discus with a distance of 42-1. Loranger’s Mady Shields won at 83-4.

Bogalusa’s Chantiasa Adams and Lambert were 10th and 11th in the shot put at 16-7 and 13-9. West Feliciana’s Samillon Mims won at 30-2.

West Feliciana won the team competition with 197 points, as eight teams tallied points.

Loranger was second with 135, followed by Amite’s 67, Kentwood’s 55 and South Pike’s 55 to round out the top five.

Bogalusa and Franklinton were seventh and eighth with 10 and six.
