Bogalusa resident captures state title

Northlake Christian School’s Emmanuel Powell, a Bogalusa resident, captured the Division IV powerlifting state title in the 275-pound weight class. Powell lifted a total of 1,565 pounds with a 635 squat, 400 bench press and 530 deadlift. On Thursday, he qualified for nationals in the National Qualifying Meet in Covington.
