Stanley Wheat, born in Poplarville, Miss., and a longtime resident of Bogalusa, passed away Monday afternoon, March 22, 2021, at Our Lady of the Angels Hospital in Bogalusa, at the age of 69. He was a avid fisherman, a die-hard Oklahoma Sooners fan, and he was great with customizing and painting fishing lures.

He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Catherine “Cathy” Wheat of Bogalusa; his daughter, Meagan “Puds” (James) Turner of Bush; his son, Joshua (Brittany) Wheat of Huntsville, Ala.; his father, Marion C. Wheat of the Buck Branch community, Miss.; grand-dog, Lola Wheat of Bogalusa; his brother, Ronnie (Carol) Wheat of Brandon, Miss.; and also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Alma Rice Wheat.

Graveside services will be on Saturday, March 27, at 10 a.m. at Kennedy Cemetery in the Buck Branch community, with the Rev. Clay Norwood officiating.
