Varnado goes 1-1 in last 2 games in baseball

Varnado’s Wildcats posted a 1-1 record in their last two games.

Varnado was defeated by Jewel Sumner, 14-1, in a road game that was held on March 1.

Everette Peters, Jamari Lewis and Brandon Jefferson all had a hit.

Jefferson tallied a run batted in.

On Friday, Varnado hung on to defeat Booker T. Washington, 11-10, in a road game at Wesley Barrow Stadium in New Orleans.

Jefferson, who pitched 5-1/3 innings, had two extra-base hits offensively with a double, a triple and three runs batted in.

Lewis got the save and struck out the final hitter with the tying run on third.

Varnado’s next game will take place Thursday in the Washington Parish Tournament.
