Lady Bucs defeated in Overall Tournament

Bowling Green School’s Lady Buccaneers were defeated by Jackson Preparatory School, 61-46, in the first round of the Overall Tournament at Bowling Green School on Tuesday.

Bailey Devall tallied 13 points to lead the team in points. Devall, who made three 3-pointers, grabbed seven rebounds, dished out two assists, made four steals and blocked a shot.

Kaka Seal posted 11 points that included a 3-pointer and she made all six of her free throws. Seal had three rebounds, three assists and a steal.

Bridget Devall tallied nine points that included a 3-pointer, five rebounds, an assist and two steals.

Javonnie Bickham recorded seven points that included a 3-pointer.

Peyton Dupuy posted three points, a rebound, two assists and a steal.

Claire Wascom tallied three points and four rebounds.

Anna Claire Crowe had four rebounds, while Baileigh Crain pulled down a rebound.

Bowling Green School had two seniors in Bickham and Lacie Penton.

“Lacie Penton was our player manager and coordinator and a valuable part to our team will be greatly missed,” Bowling Green School coach Barry Seal said. “Javonnie Bickham, first year player for us, had to learn our system and got better every week will be greatly missed

Jackson Preparatory played Leake Academy after press time. Leake Academy had a bye in the first round. The winner plays either Columbia Academy or Madison-Ridgeland Academy.
