Benny Joe Hathorne Jr., 62, born on Oct. 13, 1958, in Bogalusa, passed away Monday, March 1, 2021, at his residence in Bogalusa.

Benny was a jack of all trades, but truly enjoyed his last trade as a locksmith. He was a loving father and had the most wonderful sense of humor.

He is survived by his two daughters, Amy Hathorne (Linzie) Scott and Marie Burnthorn; their mother, Teena Pittman; six grandchildren, Clayton (Carsen) Burnthorn, Jazlyn ( Justin) Harris, Kyra Hathorne, Kayne Netto, Jaylon Scott and Shy Hathorne; two great-grandchildren, Brynn and Branson Burnthorn; and his five sisters, Reanette Thomas, Beverly Magee, Melinda Bickham, Rebecca Knight and Connie Miller.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Bennie Joe Hathorne Sr. and Delores Hathorne.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home and Crematory.

A private memorial will be held at a later date.
