Franklinton’s Demons posted a 2-1 record in the Pearl River Tournament that was held Friday and Saturday.

Franklinton was defeated in the opener on a walk off in the eighth inning, 3-2, to Covington.

Franklinton was limited to two hits with one each coming from Micah Wascom and Rickeen Burkhalter. Wascom doubled and scored a run. Burkhalter drove in two runs.

Jordan McKenzie scored a run for Franklinton.

Will Turner threw a solid game with two unearned runs on two hits with nine strikeouts and a walk over five innings.

The Demons played two games on Saturday and won both.

Franklinton defeated Belle Chasse, 6-2.

The Demons broke a scoreless tie with three in the fourth and made it 5-0 with two more in the fifth. Belle Chasse posted two runs in the sixth before Franklinton countered with one in its half of the frame.

Turner tallied two hits with two runs and an RBI.

Penton doubled and scored a run.

Daylin Sigler singled, scored a run and drove one home.

Trayshun Warren singled and had an RBI.

Nathan Parden and D.J. Corkern scored a run each.

Winning pitcher McKenzie was solid, allowing two unearned runs over six innings. McKenzie allowed three hits with 11 strikeouts and two walks.

Penton threw a scoreless and hitless inning for Franklinton with a strikeout and no walks.

The Demons defeated McKinley, 17-3, in five innings to cap off the tournament.

Franklinton coaxed 14 walks and posted six hits.

Warren tallied two hits that included a double with two RBIs and two runs scored.

Caleb Brown doubled and drove in two.

Burkhalter singled and scored two runs.

Penton singled, scored a run and drove in a run.

Tyler Hammond singled and drove in a run.

Dylan Stafford scored two runs, while Turner and Sigler scored a run and posted an RBI each, Wascom, Dillon Pace, McKenzie, Tryson Fowler, Trevor Vise, Pardon, Josiah Miller and Isaac Wascom all scored a run and Cade Phillips drove in a run.

Four pitchers combined on the win.

Warren was the winning pitcher. He allowed one unearned run on no hits with three strikeouts and two walks over two innings.

Franklinton will be back in action in the Ponchatoula Tournament that will be Thursday through Saturday.
