Buccaneers are 2nd in Class 3A

Bowling Green School’s Buccaneers came in second at the 2021 Class 3A Basketball Tournament at Oak Hill Academy.

After winning its first game of the event, 75-64, over the host team on Wednesday, the Buccaneers moved to the finals with a 60-51 victory over Riverfield Academy on Friday.

Two players hit the 20-point mark for the Buccaneers.

Dalton Crain led the way with 21 points.

Javon Bickham tallied 20.

Bowling Green came up short in the title game to Clinton Christian Academy, 58-56, on Saturday.

Rece Dillon topped Bowling Green with 19 points.

Nathan Jenkins posted 15.

Three players made the all-tournament team for the Bucs.

Bickham, Crain and Dillon made the all-tournament team.

The top three teams moved to the Overall Tournament that began yesterday and will run today, Friday, Saturday, Monday and Tuesday.

The Buccaneers started the tournament and played Jackson Preparatory School after press time.
