Ouida Harris, 74, passed away Feb. 22, 2021. She was born and raised in Bogalusa. She received a degree in Library Science from the University of Southern Mississippi. She worked in the Jackson-George Regional Library System for over 20 years. She greatly enjoyed sharing her passion for books with her family. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, Nanny, sister and friend to many. Her loving spirit will be deeply missed.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Samuel O. “Butch” Harris; parents, Myrle and Beatrice Carriere; brothers, Larry Elton and Milton Earl Carriere; sisters, Paula Mitchell, Ann Kenny and Beverly Little; niece, Crystal Carriere; and nephew, Chad Sullivan.

Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Sean (Stephanie) Harris and Tara (Drake) Eubanks; grandchildren, Tori Harris, Claire Eubanks and Caroline Eubanks; brother, Lavon (Carol) Carriere of Angie; brothers-in-law, David Kenny of Bogalusa, Greg (Denise) Mitchell of Mandeville, and Allen Little of Baton Rouge; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

The Visitation for Ouida Harris was Friday, Feb. 26, from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. The Memorial Service began at 3 p.m. in the funeral home chapel, with Bro. Jeff Morris officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Friends of the Library.
