Sis. Edraine Butler Clark was born on Sept. 11, 1932, to the late Eddie and Edna Butler. Sis. Edraine departed this life on Feb. 20, 2021, at approximately 10:56 a.m. at Riverside Medical Center in Franklinton.

Sis. Edraine was united in holy matrimony to Wallace Alexander Clark on Dec. 3, 1949. To this union, five children were born.

Sis. Edraine was a hard worker, working in the fields. She cleaned houses and was a caregiver of her elderly parents and other family members needing care, including grandchildren. She retired from shucking oysters in order to take care of her husband Wallace, who was ill. Sis. Edraine loved entertaining her family and friends, planting flowers, gardening, cooking and making her sweet tea that she was well known for.

Sis. Edraine leaves to mourn and cherish her memories: two sons, James (Connie) Clark and Larry (Linda) Clark of Mt. Hermon; one stepson, Alexander Clark of Rialto, Calif.; three daughters, Elaine Magee of Mt. Hermon, Alice (Toner) Pittman of Yuba City, Calif., and Barbara (Nathan) Walker of Mt. Hermon; one stepdaughter, Narvella Hemphill of Albany; one brother, David (Daisy) Butler of New Orleans; sister-in-law, Shirley Magee of New Orleans; son-in-low, Jerry Stallion of Baton Rouge; 26 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; 34 great-great-grandchildren; two great-great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends, including a great friend who was like a sister, Mrs. Bernice Tate of Atlanta, Ga., and a dear friend and neighbor of 66 years, Mrs. Delores Corken of Mt. Hermon.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Eddie and Edna Butler; her husband, Wallace Clark; and 13 siblings.
