Franklinton’s Chase Penton and Jordan McKenzie recorded three hits each in a 13-3 six-inning victory over Albany in Tuesday’s season opener at home.

Penton doubled, drove in two and scored a run.

McKenzie doubled, scored three runs and posted an RBI.

Daylin Sigler went 2-for-4 with three runs batted in and a run scored.

Nathan Parden posted two hits that included a double and three runs scored.

Banyan Penton singled twice and scored a run.

Rickeen Burkhalter singled, had two RBIs and a run scored.

Will Turner singled, drove in a run scored a run.

Micah Wascom scored two runs for Franklinton. On the mound, Wascom threw 4-1/3 innings, allowing three runs, two earned, on one hit with five strikeouts and three walks.

Franklinton jumped out to a 6-0 lead through four innings. Albany put up three in the fifth, but Franklinton countered with six in its half of the inning to go up,12-3, before tallying a run in the sixth for the “mercy rule”  win.
